Action 24/7 Has License Suspended

Big news has come out of the Tennessee sports betting industry, and it is a locally owned sportsbook that has made the headlines.
Action 24/7 is the first online sportsbook in the United States to have its license suspended.
The Tennessee Education Lottery announced the suspension earlier this week, and the decision is expected to be challenged with an official appeal. Action 24/7 was not off to a strong start in the Tennessee market, and this news of a suspension will make things more difficult to keep up with some of the top operators.
The license suspension comes after it was found that Action 24/7 had failed to prevent instances of credit card fraud and money laundering with several registered accounts. A temporary suspension was already in place, but the Tennessee Education Lottery made this permanent with an official vote.

This is an indefinite suspension, and the sportsbook is expected to work with the TEL to get its license reinstated. Action 24/7 has also been in touch with lawyers, and it could choose to appeal the suspension to get back online quicker.
Action 24/7 also came under question during the Super Bowl in February when it was revealed that proxy betting was allowed by the site. The Tennessee Education Lottery was keeping a close eye on this sports betting operator.
According to the minutes from the TEL meeting, it was Action 24/7 that reported these violations, although it was not done in a timely manner. The company was alerted of these issues on March 9, but they were not sent to the Tennessee Education Lottery until March 17.
Not only are these issues dangerous for sports bettors, but these are also serious crimes, and criminal charges could be coming for some accounts. Action 24/7 first went down on Thursday night, and the company initially blamed site maintenance for the outage.
We know the timing is not great, and we appreciate your patience! We’ve worked through the night to get the issue resolved. We’ll be back soon. pic.twitter.com/l8dzUH9XCA

TwinSpires Now Available
In positive news in the Tennessee sports betting market, the TwinSpires app is now available in the state and launched just in time for March Madness. TwinSpires Sportsbook is a product of Churchill Downs, and this launch actually came much later than anticipated.
The Tennessee Education Lottery approved TwinSpires way back on Jan. 6, and it is unclear what took so long for the site to launch. Churchill Downs Inc. made a switch from BetAmerica to TwinSpires, and this is one of the first markets to have this new app.
William Hill launched in the state on March 11, and WynnBet is expected to launch soon as well. DraftKings and FanDuel remain the top sports betting options in the Volunteer State, but more competition is good for the market.
March is expected to be another big month for the Tennessee sports betting industry, and this state is already off to a record-setting start. The official March betting handle and revenue numbers will be available at some point in April, and it should give a better idea of how TwinSpires will fare in the state.
